Film Access Northumberland & Eye2Eye International Film Festival offers 2 awards & industry connections
Film Access Northumberland (FAN) and the Eye2Eye International Film Festival promote up and coming filmmakers with cash, in-kind, and mentorship prizes.
FAN connects participating students and emerging filmmakers with industry leaders, as well as providing a showcase for the industry to discover new talent.
“Supporting Film Access Northumberland helps emerging filmmakers bring their talent and work to the community and even the world,” says Festival Director, Sarah Cleveland. “By helping to spread the word about Film Access Northumberland and the Eye2Eye International Film Festival, you’ll be helping new filmmakers be successful by giving them the opportunity to showcase their work and gain invaluable experiences and education from established professionals in the industry.”
The Awards
The Film Forward Award
Two or more awards of in-kind equipment and/or facilities use, and consulting time with top industry mentors, (valued at more than $3000) will be awarded to two or more outstanding Canadian or international emerging or student filmmakers.
The Bob Johnston Memorial Award
This award provides a $1000 cash award to an emerging or student filmmaker enrolled in an Ontario post secondary program in a film/animation/digital-and-media program.
“Access is the key word in Film Access Northumberland (FAN),” says Chair, Ross Pigeau. “FAN will give the film industry, especially emerging filmmakers, access to a rich artistic culture in Northumberland. In return, Northumberland will have access to future generations of top film talent from around the world. It is a win-win situation consistent with our mission to promote community, tolerance and understanding through the art of film.”
FAN has already awarded the Bob Johnston Memorial Award to Adrienne Eagleson for her film, A Lifetime of Love. Gwendal Le Glatin and Cassiel Robas won the Film Forward award for their movie, Friends of Chivirico. https://www.filmaccessnorthumberland.ca/awards

About the Eye2Eye International Film Festival
Presented in Northumberland County, the Festival features a line-up of award-winning films, documentaries, animation, digital works, art exhibits, professional development programs, and music performances, all highlighting the best Canadian and local talent alongside international works. The Student and Emerging Filmmaker Awards support emerging talent with both a financial and in-kind package to further their careers in the arts.
