Northumberland OPP Charge Three People From Marmora
Trent Hills – On June 28, 2022, shortly after midnight members of the Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment responded to a call for a robbery with a firearm that had occurred at a residence on Bridge Street West in the town of Campbellford.
The OPP Canine unit and members of the OPP Emergency Response Team attended the scene to assist in the search for multiple suspects, however no arrests were made. The incident appeared to have been a targeted and isolated event.
On June 29, 2022, members of the Peterborough Northumberland OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) completed an investigation that resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the municipality of Marmora, with the assistance of the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU).
As a result of the investigation, three people were arrested and charged with:
Bryan DOUCETTE (age 39) of Marmora is charged with:
- Break, enter a place – commit indictable offence
- Robbery using a firearm
- Disguise with intent
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault with a Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
- Possession of property obtained by crime – under $5000
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
- Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
- Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
- Operation while prohibited under the criminal code
- Operation while prohibited under the criminal code
- Pointing a firearm
- Possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon at unauthorized place
- Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Firearm – use while committing offence
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose
- Fail to comply with probation order
The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice on July 4, 2022, in the Town of Cobourg.
Shawna-Lee RAE (age 35) of Marmora is charged with:
- Break, enter a place – commit indictable offence
- Robbery using firearm
- Disguise with intent
- Assault with a weapon
- Uttering threats – cause death of bodily harm
- Possession property obtained by crime – under $5000
- Possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon at unauthorized place
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Firearm – use while committing offence
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

Ryan KEARNS (age 33) of Marmora is charged with:
- Robbery using firearm
- Break, enter a place – commit indictable offence
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Disguise with intent
- Assault with a weapon
- Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
- Possession of property obtained by crime – under $5000
- Possession of prohibited or restricted weapon at unauthorized place
- Careless use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Firearm – use while committing offence
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice on July 5, 2022, in the Town of Cobourg.
A fourth person, Jason DOW-WEST (age 25) of North Kawartha TWP. was arrested and charged during this investigation on charges not related to the robbery:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Fail to comply with prohibition order
The accused was released on a recognizance and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice on July 20, 2022, in the Town of Cobourg.
