2022 Council is All Men This Time Around

Trent Hills - Tues., Oct. 24, 2022 - There are three new faces at the table for the next four years who will be making decisions as councillors for Trent Hills.

Newcomer Rob Pope was elected for Ward 2, defeating incumbent longtime councillor Cathy Redden and candidate Jonathan Leach. Newcomer Daniel Giddings was elected for Ward 3, defeating Sandra Walls. Dennis Savery was elected for Ward 5, defeating newcomers Joshua Felix Csenar and Joshua Chalhoub.

Those are the new councillors who will have the opportunity to attend a municipal workshop to learn the ropes before they go to their first council meeting in November.

Mayor Crate was elected again, in a similar scenario to the 2018 election, defeating Susan Fedorka, this time by 970 votes.

Deputy Mayor Mike Metcalf was re-elected defeating newcomer Bill Reid, by 763 votes.

There will be interviews with the mayor and deputy mayor which will be published tomorrow in which they talk about what they will be facing in the next four years and what priorities they have to bring to the table.

The unofficial election results were posted by 9 p.m. tonight. Candidates and friends and former councillors who didn’t run this time, had gathered for the announcement.
