Campbellford - The pink dot bag sale continues at Mary’s Closet located at 21 Centre St., at the back of the rectory of St. Mary’s Catholic Church between the church and the house rectory.
Mary’s Closet is where one can find everything from used clothing to used small appliances.
Those items with the pink dot can go into a bag and the cost is only $8.00.
Anything in the store that has a pink dot on the tag is eligible to go in the bag, be it a purse, shoes, jacket, pants, sweaters, dresses and more.
The goal is to clear out all of the spring items in time for summer ones.
The pink dot sale lasts until the end of May.
It’s all part of the continuing effort by the church to provide for the folks in the area and it was started by Father Bill Moloney.
Since its beginnings there have been many volunteers from the church helping with the fundraiser that is beneficial to the community.

Sue Boniface, a volunteer, spoke with Trent Hills Now about how the idea is progressing.
“We started last year, so during the pandemic, and we’ve had ups and downs, but people have been very, very generous with us. I mean, we have so much stock and it’s all really, really good quality stock. And what we can’t use or what we feel is not as gently used as we would like we decide to send on to St. Vincent DePaul in either Peterborough or in Bowmanville,” she said.
“We have shoes, we have hats, we have jeans. We still have a lot of ladies very dressy clothes,” too she added.
“We have youth and children’s and toddlers and baby clothes, women’s clothing, and men’s clothes,” she said.

Donations are coming in to Mary’s Closet fast and furious.
“We’re probably averaging anywhere from five to 10 bags a day,” said Boniface.
Mary’s Closet, as mentioned, is a fundraiser too, helping the church to pay of its debt for its restoration. And as well the church donates when it can to the hospital.
Mary’s Closet is open Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Thursdays, 4 to 7 p.m.; and Saturdays, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
