Dirt Bike and SUV Collide East of Havelock

Blairton Road was Closed but is now Open

HAVELOCK-BELMONT-METHUEN TOWNSHIP - Mon., May 15, 2023 - Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called to the scene of a fatal collision on Blairton Road at approximately 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 14,2023.

Officers arrived at scene and determined the collision took place between a southbound SUV and a northbound dirt bike. The operator of the dirt bike, a 33-year-old male from Havelock-Belmont-Methuen, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Blairton Road remained closed for several hours while members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene. The road has since been re-opened.
