Trent Hills - Mon., May 8, 2023 - Trent Hills Pride, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive environment for LGBTQ2S+ individuals in the community, is excited to announce its upcoming week-long festival from June 1 to June 11, 2023. The events are aimed at celebrating diversity, promoting acceptance, and raising awareness about LGBTQ2S+ issues.

The Trent Hills Pride Week is highly anticipated by the LGBTQ2S+ community, allies, and the community in general. The events are designed to bring people together, provide opportunities for fun and socializing, and show support for the LGBTQ2S+ community. This year’s events promise to be bigger and better than ever before.

The festival kicks off on June 1 at 8:30 am with the raising of the inclusive flag, a symbol of LGBTQ2S+ pride and diversity. The event is a symbol of solidarity and support for the community.

Throughout the week, there will be various events, including the Warkworth Opening Ceremony - Market Party on June 2 at 6:00 pm, where attendees will be entertained by the Peterborough Academy of Circus acts and singer and comedian Eve Parker. Drag Storytelling will take place at all Trent Hills Library branches on June 3, starting at 10:00 am in Hastings, 11:00 am in Campbellford, and noon in Warkworth.

Other exciting events include Drag n’ Shop, Wear Your Decade Fashion Bingo, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The much-loved Drags take over! event will take place on June 9 at McGillicafey’s in Hastings and Dockside Bistro in Campbellford.

This year, Trent Hills Pride is introducing a new event, the Pet Pride Parade, which will be held on June 10 on Main Street, Warkworth. The event will be a fun way for people to show their support for the LGBTQ2S+ community while celebrating their furry, squealed, or fluffy friends.

The Pride Festival at the Old Mill Park on June 11 at 11:30 am will be the main event, featuring a range of activities, including yoga, kids’ activities, live music, and a special appearance by the Queens Sahira Q and Betty Baker.
